I interned at a hospital my last year of school, and saw these Dansko professional clogs all around, in every color imaginable. Nurses, doctors, interns, med students…everyone who spends a lot of time on their feet was wearing a pair. Honestly, I didn’t think they were that attractive. But I decided to make the investment and try a pair. Now I have two.
The most amazing part about these shoes is that you don’t feel a thing – and I realized that’s the beauty of them. After an entire day on your feet, you don’t feel anything when you go home – no pain, no aching, no throbbing, no blisters.
I didn’t truly appreciate these shoes until the day I didn’t wear them.
Just make sure you get them in the right size – I’m a 9 to a 9.5 and I had to go up to what they call the equivalent of a 10.
This is my second pair of Danskos, and I definitely notice a decrease in quality from the pair I’ve had for 5 years. Also, these shoes say “made in Brazil” on them – has Dansko started outsourcing? Additionally, Amazon needs to improve their description of Danskos, because I did not realize there was any real difference between the box leather and cabrio leather shoes (since the description is the same and they look the same in the pictures), but after googling it, I found this info. on the Dansko Outlet page:
“Box leather is ideal for workplace environments with wet, acidic or greasy conditions. It has a smooth, clean finish that can easily be maintained. Care Instructions: Use a damp soapy cloth or sponge to remove surface dirt. Do not saturate the leather. Ordinary scuff marks may be touched up with shoe polish.
Cabrio leather features a black top coat that provides a high-gloss shine and dressy appeal. Cabrio Leather is not recommended for occupational use in the medical or culinary industry. Care Instructions: To remove surface dirt, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.”
I wish I had known this before purchasing the cabrio shoes because I think I may have bought the wrong shoe. I am considering trying to exchange these for the box leather shoes.
